Flat world - Final Chapter
“None of us benefits by keeping any of us ignorant”. This is my favorite quote from the final chapter of The Flat World, and it echoes John Dewey’s quote. We need to figure out how to equalize education and make curriculum and resources available to all students. We also need to make sure that all students are being taught by well prepared teachers. At the beginning of this year Oakland and San Francisco were both short hundreds of teachers to begin their school years. This then places ill-prepared teachers in classrooms and results in unequal education.
